Arguably the best Call Of Duty game! Being that it is such a good game, does it mean that kids should play this game? Being a war game, there is a lot of violence to be expected. In the campaign there's constant shootings and blood gushing, and if you shoot someone to the head, you'll see bits of brain matter with access blood gushing out. Sometimes with certain high power guns, you could blow off a limbs "only in the campaign and zombie mode.
The campaign mode is the most brutal part of the game, but the most goriest would have to go the zombies. As you try to fend for yourself againsts countless of zombies, you can blow their heads, arms, legs off with a high powered weapon. You could even blow half of their bodies off with a grenade!
If you make it to a certain level, you will have to fight off zombie dogs "hell hounds. The multiplayer is less brutal. There's no decapitated arms or legs. Just access blood when fighting. This title contains: Ease of Play.
Helped me decide. Had useful details 1. Adult Written by pickoleslove April 30, Blood is bad guys arms and legs fall of when u use a shotgun or mini gun. And their is bad sences as taking a guys eye ball out and taking a guys toung out I say 16 and up.
And pepole drink beer and they smoke once a guys smokes drugs so that's it. Adult Written by bluegold5 September 11, Don't underestimate just because the kid next door plays it Although the number of young teens who play Call of Duty is growing, that does not make it okay. As someone who has played this game inside and out, I think many scenes from the campaign are too much for kids under 16 to handle. More than just typical war violence--brutal stabbings, strangulations, executions, torture, the list goes on.
The option to turn off "graphic content" does little more than eliminate the blood. The intent is still there. Parent of a 5, 11, 13, and year-old Written by awesomeparent67 March 4, This title contains: Language. Read my mind 1. Parent of a year-old Written by John C. November 13, It includes, particularly bloody, 4-player Zombies mode and introduces a Battle Royale mode called Blackout, which features up to players in each match.
Along with the ratings, it's worth considering that the action is intense and non-stop. Also that playing online will often result in exposure to insults and inflammatory language. In addition, because the game is for adults it also addresses mature themes like child abuse, arson and loss. In one scene a young girl is threatened by her father. Her brother sets fire to the house and he jumps from the window. Now, of cource, if you don't mute the other online players then you are likely to hear some cursing, but muting them is easier than ever.
I'm not sure. I haven't played the zombie part of the game yet but I expect that it will be censored in the same way as the campaign. Also, I should note that I haven't played enough of the game to know what the suggestive themes are about, but Uncharted 2 had the same 3 dot rating for sex and it wasn't very bad the kind of sutff you see on basic tv. However I may write another review after I have played more of the game.
Oh yeah, and by the way, I really love the game so far. Helped me decide 2. Had useful details 2. Read my mind 3. Blown Away Amazing game for ages 8 and up! You can turn the bad language and blood off common sense! This title contains: Language. Read my mind 2. A Poor Choice of Rating My wife bought this game for my son when he was While I hadn't originally signed on, my son explained to me several things about it.
I really care about and want to know about the games that my son plays because I don't want him playing some awful gory shooter game. Because of this I looked into it a bit. Firstly was how it got rated M. He said that the Call of Duty games before this had been rated T I checked this out. I found out that the reason that this game was rated M rather than T was because the graphics were better than past games so the gore was more vivid.
I told my son about this and he showed me that he could turn off all blood and gore by simply turning off a single setting. I didn't realize that it was that easy. I also watched him play the story mode for around 30 minutes. I was surprised because in that time I didn't hear a single swear word. The story mode was also optional and not necessary. I found that this game was wronged in the rating. The basic reason behind making the game M rated was because it was extremely gory, but there is an easy feature that turns gore fully off.
While I'm not condoning telling your children to go play a shooter game, I definitely think that children 12 and older can play this game. This title contains: Positive role models. Read my mind 1. Parent Written by godofwarqoota October 25, This title contains: Positive Messages. A knife is jabbed into the subject's hand and twisted, and he is later executed. It fits well in the story and is not gratuitous, but I feel they could have scaled the gore back a little.
Like violence and gore, the profanity level is pegged at maximum. There are very few exchanges that don't include multiple profanities.
The f-bomb is dropped in almost every scene and the few scenes that omit it more than make it up with other words and sexual slurs. The same applies for multiplayer lobbies, though in my experience it is the younger players who are cussing and throwing insults the most. The overall feel of the game is similar to the first story, but at times feels oddly sci-fi.
Weapons, at least for the future missions, have some high tech features. Most notable are weapons targeting systems that highlight enemies, millimeter scanning scopes that can see through walls and rocks, and autonomous drones. Following in the steps of other Call of Duty titles, Black Ops 2 offers multiple types of game play.
