The third installment of the modern Planet of the Apes franchise will feature Caesar and his fellow super-smart primates going head-to-head with a human army intent on reclaiming Earth. And if we lose, it will be a planet of apes. In War for the Planet of the Apes , humans refuse to be the subservient species to primates.
The solution to this conflict of competition — as the trailer and the not-so-subtle movie title makes out — appears to be war. However, its next iteration, ALZ, proved to also increase the intelligence of chimps while being incredibly lethal to humans. And by the time this third movie rolls around, 99 percent of the human population has died while Caesar and his comrades have built a civilization of their own.
So both were brutally murdered. But the child ape survived and grew up to set his fellow creatures free from the yoke of human slavery. Yet, in the aftermath of his victory, the surface of the world was ravaged by the vilest war in human history.
The great cities of the world split asunder and were flattened. And out of one such city, our savior led a remnant of those who survived in search of greener pastures, where ape and human might forever live in friendship, according to divine will. APJ : Battle for the Planet of the Apes In the comics Around , the Lawgiver adopted the human child Sullivan and the chimp child Alaya , both of whom had been rescued from the settlement of Red Creek after its destruction by the human army of Delphi. He raised them as sisters in the city of Mak , as an example of how the species could co-exist. In , while he was teaching about peace from the Sacred Scrolls , the Lawgiver was tragically gunned down by a disguised human assailant.
An autopsy later confirmed that he was shot at least 26 times by a Stormgewehr Mitrailleuse machine gun. The assassin was later revealed as Sully's mute human friend Chaika , with the weapon provided by Brother Kale. The ape and human populations of Mak then went to war for a decade before the town was destroyed by a nuclear bomb. The same comic series climaxed with the summoning of the ghost of Caesar, who declares, "That is the name I was once called.
