I recommend that you be at least 15 levels over the troggs. I'm a 43 mage and I used Arcane Explosion to farm. Still if you're at least 15 levels above them it should be easy to farm Linen here.
It's so easy that it wasn't even funny. Oh wait, it is! Hell, I'd suggest Alliance try to get there if they've got the balls. Comment by Allakhazam where do you get this item? Just about any mob less than level 19 will drop these though.
Comment by Allakhazam This drops like everywhere:P. Comment by Allakhazam isn't there a place to buy em? Comment by Allakhazam It's not a lot of silver but it bought me all my greens until I could get wool cloth to buy blues.
Do the rest of it and it'd be surprising if you didn't exit RFC with about Linen. Pretty soul crushing though. Sign in. Log into your account. Forgot your password? Password recovery. You'll get used to seeing this and if you have large ticking AoE's all you have to do is throw that down and stand there and loot as 10 mobs die in seconds.
While some people have claimed huge amounts of linen cloth in ten minutes, honestly I got stacks every 15 mins and that was with non-stop killing and looting. Which is pretty good and with constant respawn you will never be short a mob to kill or have to run more then a couple of yards to kill something. Staying behind the inn gives you quick access to a mailbox to mail cloth off and sell off all that extra stuff you picked up.
I saw tons of greens, picked up a cooking recipe, a blacksmithing recipe and a small bag. I was farming cloth for goblin rep and found out that my main who had done the Westfall quests to see what had changed couldn't farm nearly as well as my unphased toons.
Keep this in mind if you're there for AH money, cloth for profs or cloth for turn-ins. Comment by Screwy This spot still works great patch 4. Comment by bbbrasil Redridge Mountains, Stonewatch falls. Come with empty bags but hearthstone. They respawn at a time when the last is killed. Position yourself in the middle and 2-shot them, so they'll come to you. Important: kill the 6th asap, it patrols away and there's no respawn until you kill it.
Comment by Adding some data, I farmed this spot for exactly 60 minutes and ended up with: linen cloth 24 greens 2 recipes a whole lot of vendor trash As mentioned, the spawn is continous: as soon as you kill one, another will spawn immediately.
They have about 10 spawn locations which I divided up into two groups of 5 which were covered by one Swipe. This way, I simply swiped until all mobs had respawned in the other group, leaving me to clear the corpses without interference such as attacking a mob that's standing over a corpse; annoying, because if you're not facing that mob, you won't attack and you'll lose a very slight amount of time.
After looting I moved over to the other group and repeated ad nauseam, I might add. Comment by A great place to farm this if your a higher level is Ragefire Chasm in Org or you can snag some in The Deadmines in Westfall. If your not into dungeon farming my favorite place on ally is Jangelode Mine in Northern Westfall killing the bandits or for horde i enjoy any of the razor thorn camps in the barrens.
Happy hunting. Comment by Chalk another one up for the Gnolls in Sentinel Hill. They respawn super fast and in some cases drop 2 pieces of linen cloth. Comment by sdlotu Want lots of linen and wool? A nice selection of greens as well? Hate to move your toon to kill and loot? Then the Sludge Fields in Hillsbrad is the place for your to bring your high level toon! Plop your favorite AOE toon at this exact spot: You will be in the dead center of five spawn points for Risen Hillsbrad Farmers and Peasants.
They will spawn in sets of three. Wait for the three all to rise. They will pause a second. Slay them ALL. Another three will spawn immediately. Loot one or two while the next ones are spawning, kill, loot again, and repeat until your bags are full. If you fall behind in looting, let a few go and pick up the loot for a few seconds. In 30 minutes, I looted linen, wool, 11 greens, a gem and 33 junk pieces. I'm slow and clumsy. Other places may be a bit 'faster', but do they let you park your toon completely, then just slay and loot?
The Horde can fly to Tarren Mill, mail the spoils to their twink or bank toon, and be back very fast. Most will drop one to two Linen Cloth and are only level 11, so perfect for low level Horde just looking to farm up enough to get out of the Linen Bandage area of First Aid.
It now takes 60 sec for each spawn point to reset. I was able to fly to each point, AOE, and Auto loot each spot in about 60 sec total. Comment by Sient Confirmed This is the absolute best spot for an 85 horde.
I'd estimate 1, Linen cloth at this spot in an hour or More! Horde only. I picked up about 57 cloth in about 20 minutes and the respawn rate is very good. Comment by ysuol1 I need a lot of these stacks and since I am always poor it's too expensive on AH. I do buy eg. I tried the Sludge Fields but it's really not good. The mobs respawn very slowly at the guards. I did find some that respawn quickly but they are quite spread no aoe and they have low linen drop rate as well.
The RFC trogg part gives 1 - 1. I did went to Westfall but if I kill the mobs fighting the guards I kill the guards too I am horde , and instantly some high level guards appear and start to pew pew me so that did not work out too well. Is there still a good method or I need to make an alliance mage? Comment by Jordanaxdkx Found the Riverpaws lined up near the inn along the wall in Westfall to be very profitable.
Respawn rates are almost instant. In about 20 minutes, got about 15 stacks with my 80 rogue spamming Fan of Knives. Comment by wickedgood99 I found that the post for linen cloth by back gates of Sentinel Hill The Riverpaw gnolls are fighting Alliance not the best place for lower Hordies Got a couple of stacks of linen cloth and a couple of greenies in about 5 - 10 mins on an 85 blood dk.
Good luck all! Comment by Corq In westfall, to the east of moonbrook, there is a camp of gnolls. If you stand in the right spot, you can one shot gnolls and another appears instantly in the same spot the last one respawned. I will put up a video of this. I farmed about linen cloth in a few minutes, and i stayed in one spot the whole time. You will kill one gnoll literally every second. Comment by Scythix As of 5. However now with AoE looting I was able to get over linen cloth in 10 minutes and thats with taking time to sell items on the tundra mammoth which slowed me down a bit.
Comment by genius13 If you're in Tirisfal Glades and you want some quick linen cloth, based on my experience of about ten minutes ago, the best answer is to go somewhere else. Horrible drop rates, small numbers of mobs mostly spread out, and nothing respawns with any alacrity whatever. Comment by Another good place is the gnoll caves in Ghostlands. Was pulling in around an hour on my mage at level Comment by Yes Sentinel Hill is good for alliance. I made this Linen Cloth Farming guide to help out players who want to farm the cloths instead of buying them from the Auction House.
I decided to search for places with high density of mobs which I can kill and drop [Linen Cloth]. I traveled around Azeroth, and after a while I made a list of places. They respawn very fast - sometimes a new one spawns before the last one hits the ground.
